Artist statement

I am a self taught artist with a strong family history of artists. My mother introduced me to pastels when I was young and I have been using them ever since.

Most of my work is done on sanded paper , often with an under painting of watermedia or pastel washed with alcohol.

I enjoy observing the landscape and interpreting its moods through composition ,value and color temperatures

I have achieved master and eminent pastellist status with Pastel artists of Canada and have had work accepted in both Pastel society of America and IAPS juried shows.
